Google Chrome, my take on this great web browser PDF Print E-mail

Click Here for Google ChromeCould Google Chrome be better? That's something I would have said no to after it first released. I had problems with Chrome such as when other apps launched a web link, Chrome would load but be completely invisible. I won't list my other dislikes, because that isn't the point here.

I downloaded and installed the latest version of Chrome and have to say, I'm very impressed and using it exclusively now!

I've been using Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer off and on for a long time. I've had a hard time deciding if Firefox is really better than IE or that Firefox lovers just have a bias from personal preference. IE ran great for me, and in fact ran faster than Firefox. I have seen no performance difference between Firefox and IE. I needed a new browser, something simple, something fast, and maybe even something that just looked more modern (not that that would be as important).

Chrome released a new version recently and after hearing awesome comments about the new browser, I installed it. At first I didn't set it as my default, but after forcing myself to run it and deleting the IE shortcuts on my taskbar, I've found that it initially loads twice as fast as any other browser I've had and entire web pages load in a few blinks. It's fast!

Other than performance, Chrome has a very simple interface. I don't need menus, toolbars, favorite bars, etc. I just need a web browser with plenty of space to show web pages. This was it. I also like the way the download manager functions over Firefox. It's at the bottom out of the way and not in a separate window to bother me.

So far I haven't found any bugs I experienced in the past. It's working flawlessly for me. I would prefer to see some Windows 7 integration. It would be great if it showed previews of your tabs and progress of downloads in the taskbar just like IE does, but for now I am very happy with it and recommend that others give it a try.
